A special award was created this year for a very special young lady, Kaitlin Perks, one of our youngest and only female member of the club. Kaitlin sadly passed away only about a week before our contest after a long battle with Leukemia which plagued her for a great deal of her short life of only 28 years.

Kaitlin will always be remembered for her illuminating smile, gentle demeanor and warm personality as well as her award winning model building skills, as she contributed to and won several awards at our contests over the years.

Known for her choices of building unusual subjects, She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The winner of the award this year was Kenny Gogan, shown in the picture below at right, the plaque presented by Jason Sloboda as well as the rare and unusual model kit that is the kind of subject that Kaitlin would have enjoyed.
