Our special award celebrating the life of a very special young lady, Kaitlin Perks, one of our youngest and only female member of the club. Kaitlin sadly passed away only about a week before our contest last year after a long battle with Leukemia which plagued her for a great deal of her short life of only 28 years.

Kaitlin will always be remembered for her illuminating smile, gentle demeanor and warm personality as well as her award winning model building skills, as she contributed to and won several awards at our contests over the years.

Known for her choices of building unusual subjects and pushing her limits, She continues to be be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The winner of the award this year, presented here by Blair Quinn, was Alexandria Wilson, a younger modeler who exudes the spirit of modeling and pushing the envelope of her skills the way Kaitlin did. Although a junior, she entered some of her models in the adult category to further test her boundaries with the great job she did on her outstanding little model of a Nakajima Japanese seaplane, which measures only about 3 inches long..
